Wen Zhang is an PhD candidate in Psychology at King’s College London, where her research focuses on cultural adaptations and social capital amongst Chinese international students. Her academic background combines psychology with practical therapeutic training, holding an MSc in Counselling Studies from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA in Industrialization and Development from the University of Liverpool.
With over two decades of cross-cultural experience, Wen brings a unique international perspective to her research. She has worked extensively supporting Chinese international students in the UK through her role at EuroChina Consultants Ltd., where she provides guidance on physical and emotional wellbeing whilst studying abroad. She is currently a counsellor at Side By Side Counselling, specialising in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy for issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, and relationship difficulties.
As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Wen combines scholarly research with practical therapeutic experience and community engagement, having volunteered with organisations including St John Ambulance, Foodcycle UK, and Shelter Manchester.
