Reema is a Saudi Ministry of Education PhD researcher in the lab. Her research focuses on the cultural meanings of depression in Saudi Arabia and how these meanings have transformed over time. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology from Bangor University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from King Saud University.
As a licensed assistant psychologist, Reema worked for a decade in tertiary healthcare settings, providing specialized psychological services to diverse patient populations. Reema also has a growing interest in psychotherapy where she completed an introductory course at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
Alongside her clinical work, Reema is a co-author of a peer-reviewed publication on stigma among parents of children with ASD in Saudi Arabia and has contributed to large-scale data collection for several research projects.
